Introduction to glass blowing (4-week class)

This is a 4-week workshop (12hrs) for learning basic techniques and knowledge of glass blowing. We highly recommend bringing your notebook or sketchbook with you. After this workshop, you will have better understanding on the materials, tools and equipment, and the basic process of glass blowing. We are aiming to provide you a tutorial to begin your glass blowing journey.

Time: one class per week, 2-3h per week based on the group size (the exact dates will be arranged based on the schedule)

Price: $4,900 for one / $8,400 for two (All materials included)

Week 1 (Introduction)

  • introduction to the hotshop, equipment and tools

  • basic knowledge about glass

  • gathering and shaping glass

Week 2 (Tumbler)

  • first bubble

  • one gather and two-gather tumbler

  • punty

Week 3 (Adding elements)

  • color applications

  • adding bits

Week 4 (Different bubble set-up)

  • basic bubble set-up for different shapes (e.g. bowl)

Additional notes:

  1. Classes will only run with two students.

  2. Students must make full course tuition payment to reserve a space in the course.

  3. Students needing to withdraw from a course may do so up to 7 days before the start of the course for a full refund.

  4. Courses may be canceled due to insufficient enrollments.
